Private tour

Did you know that Seville had a monopoly on trade with the Indies for more than two centuries? If you are passionate about this great age of discoveries, you cannot leave without visiting the General Archive of the Indies, a monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its documental importance.
After Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the New World, the Catholic Monarchs created the Casa de la Contratación in Seville, an institution dedicated to controlling and administering the new business of the Indies. You could say that the city became one of the main metropolises of Europe and a place to visit for those who wanted to see and trade the marvels from the American continent or to travel there themselves.
Seville was also the site of another historic milestone, which would change the perception of the known world, the first round-the-world voyage by ship. This feat was carried out by the Portuguese navigator Magellan, although he did not complete the voyage, as he died in the Philippines.
In our visit we will visit the corners of the city that still preserve part of that history such as the Cathedral steps, the old Mint and of course the old Casa Lonja, today known as the Archivo de Indias… if you want to know an era that changed the world, this is your tour!
